STINKFACE is the brainchild/alter-ego of John Hebert, guitarist/vocalist & songwriter from Philadelphia in the U.S. jOHN grew up lEARNING gUITAR during metal's classic heyday. He cut his teeth early on with the Philly underground thrash bands abacinator AND THEN DOMINANCE who scored some success playing the Mid-Atlantic region in the late 80s/early 90S opening for the likes of slayer, suicidal tendencies, overkill, & morbid angel & dark angel. Sitting out much of the rap/nu metal era to return to school & raise a family, he returned to the genre 8 years ago when a friend posted an ad online to start the metal band that would become the EMPYRE ROCK CLUB. The band endured numerous lineup changes, slugging it out in Philly's underground scene for several years until the pandemic caused a slump for live music and the band eventually fizzled out. During this time however, John started sharing his music through social media and started getting some traction with it. His music had always gotten a good response from people but the intimate nature of social media started bringing attention to the unique facial expressions brought on by his riffs. When friends started responding to his posts with "STINKFACE!" in the comments the rest just followed as the buzz started growing...
